BIOGRAPHY

Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Florian got his photographic start at the early age of 13 by aquiring a black and white still photography lab. After he finished his Associates Degree in Fine Arts in Zurich and a short stint in theater lighting, he moved to Berlin, Germany after the fall of the wall to experience a metropolis in change. There, he designed and sold print advertising for the "Berliner Zeitung" and started to shift his carrer into the film business by starting as a Production Assistant and moving up to Gaffer. When the department heads of his team moved to the United States, he made the jump accross the pond as well.

There, he completed a B.f.A. degree with distinction in cinematography at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Currently, Florian is applying his craft to a variety of projects on a freelance basis based out of Los Angeles. Besides a variety of Commercials, Music Videos and Shorts, he just finished his 5th feature film "Love is the Drug " directed by Elliott Lester which premiered at Slamdance this year and is due in Theatres this fall.
